Day 01 : Arrival and, reach to Kandy via Pinnawala

You will get your first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality, a Representative from TRANSASIA Silk Road Travel Partner. And, then proceed to Kandy with your English Speaking Guide cum Driver. On the way you will visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage established in 1975, commenced with seven orphans. Today some of these orphans enjoy the fortune of seeing their grandchildren born in the same location.kandy pic travel tranasia The original objective of establishing the orphanage inclined more towards tourism, but is soon became a conservation and educational centre. With the help of local and foreign elephant experts, Pinnawala started a scientific captive-breeding program for elephants.

Day 02 : Kandy

Breakfast at the hotel and you will visit Royal Botanical Garden in the morning.

Peradeniya Botanical Garden is situated in the Central Province of Sri Lanka and visited approximately 02 million people annually.

The garden is notable for its collection of a variety of Orchids. It is home to various species of plants, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. It is also one of the largest botanical gardens of Sri Lanka, An artificial lake with water plants including giant water lily and papyrus seeds is found in the centre of the garden.

Day 03 : Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

After your breakfast you will proceed to Nuwara Eliya. En route you will see tea plantations and Ramboda waterfalls.

Nuwara Eliya is a city in the hill country of the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The city is considered to be one of the most important locations for tea cultivation and well known for its cool climate being the coolest area in Sri Lanka. Many of the buildings have still preserved features from the colonial period. Many private homes have also maintained their old English-style lawns and gardens. The town wakes up with many activities in April for the Sinhalese and Tamil New year. Main allure during April season include the motor and horse racing events.

Day 04 : Explore Nuwara Eliya and Horton Plains

With packed breakfast you will start to do a trek to Horton Plains in the morning.

Sri Lanka’s best and most popular venue for nature reserves and eco-tourism is Horton Plains national park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The breathtaking scenery with beautiful rolling hills with upper montane forest and wet patana grasslands is home to many endemic flora and fauna in Sri Lanka. There are several attractions at Horton Plains like the Baker’s fall, Chimmini pool and the famous World’s end an escarpment with a 3700 feet sheer drop with a fantastic view of tea estates below and on clear mornings one can see all the way up to the southern coastline.

Day 05 : From Nuwara Eliya to Yala, the wild sanctuary

Breakfast at the hotel and you will be transferred to Bandarawela. En route you will do a hike to Little Adams Peak in Ella which is worth to do.

Ella is the best place to relax and wind down and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. The Ella Gap offers a stunning view and on a clear night you can see the subtle glow of the Great Basses light house in the southern coast of Sri Lanka. The Ravana Ella Falls is another spectacular sight in Ella, the perfect place for a quick dip in the cool waters. Ella’s Rock offers a breathtaking view of the countryside, the walk up to the rock itself is beautiful, passing through rail tracks and tea plantations.

Day 06 : Bandarawela-Udawalawe

You will have your breakfast and proceed to Udawalwe.

Udawalawe Park is situated in the border of the Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces of Sri Lanka. This park was opened to provide sanctuary to the wild animals displaced by construction of a reservoir. This is the best place to see wild elephants all through the year. Orphaned calves and adolescents are looked after until they are ready to be released to natural habitat by the ‘Udawalawe Elephant Transfer Home’ located within the Park. In addition to other animals, leopards, fishing and jungle cats could also be sighted on some days.

In the evening you will do a safari in the park.

Day 07 : Udawalawe-Ratnapura-Colombo

After your breakfast you will be heading to Colombo via Ratnapura.

The busiest place in Sri Lanka is Colombo, the commercial capital of the country. Colombo is with modern high rise buildings amidst old colonial ones making it a picturesque place. Colombo offers a lot for the tourists including the National Museum and the Zoological Gardens in Dehiwala which are worth a visit. Galle Face Green in Colombo, the favourite hangout spot for locals and tourists alike overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean and surrounded by tall buildings Colombo is also a shoppers paradise with some posh shopping malls.

Day 08 : Departure to Colombo Airport

Breakfast at the hotel and you will be transferred to airport for the departure flight.
