Day 01 – Arrival / Negombo

You will get your first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality, the representative/guide from TransAsia Silk Road Travel Partner will and transfer to the hotel in Negombo.

Negombo is a major city in Sri Lanka, located in Western Province, Sri Lanka. The Bandaranayake International Airport is located close to this city. The city is known for its great and olden trawling industry with busy fish markets, sandy beaches, hotels and restaurants. Due to bounty of seafood, the town restaurants are a gourmet’s delight. There are also local handicrafts, batiks and jewellery boutiques on the beaches and shops in the city. Fishing and tourism is the main economy of this city.

Day 02 – Negombo / Anuradhapura

After breakfast leave for Anuradhapura which is the first capital of Sri Lanka made by King Pandukhabaya in the 4th century BC and it so remained till the 11th century AD known as the longest serving capitals, famous in ancient and modern times Anuradhapura is a beautiful picturesque town located along a river bank which is popular for the fascinating ancient ruins and deep-rooted Buddhist culture.

After sightseeing check in to hotel and relax.

Day 03 –  Anuradhapura

After breakfast proceed to Aukana. The Avukana statue is one of the best examples of a standing statue of the Buddha from ancient Sri Lanka, which located in Kekirawa, North Central Sri Lanka. The statue, which has a height of more than 40 feet (12 m), has been carved out of a large granite rock face during the 5th century.

The Avukana statue indicates some influence of the Gandhara School of art, as well as the Amaravati School of art of India.

Constructed during the reign of Dhatusena, it may have been made because of a competition between a master and a pupil. Return to hotel and relax in the afternoon.

Day 04 – Anuradhapura / Habarana

Day 05 –  Habarana / Sigiriya

This morning after breakfast you drive to Sigiriya. SIGIRIYA, Considered the 8th wonder of the world – is a “World Heritage Site” and the 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky” which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the Palace on the summit of the 600- foot high rock. On its summit are the foundations of the Royal Palace, Water Tanks to supply water and all other buildings and at the edges the guardhouses. On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of Frescoes of 21 life sized damsels still shining in their original colours. The Water Gardens, Fountain Garden, Summerhouses, Boulder Gardens and the Caves within the enclosed area should not be missed.

Afterwards you take a walk through the local village passing paddy fields before sitting for traditional lunch prepared by the local family.

Afternoon leave for hotel and relax.

Day 06 –  Habarana / Kandy

After breakfast check out and proceed to Kandy.

Afternoon visit the caves of Dambulla sheltered King Walagamba during his 14 years of exile from Anuradhapura. When he regained the throne, he built the most magnificent of Rock Temples to be found in the Island.

In the first Cave is a recumbent image of the Buddha 47ft long cut out of the Rock. There are images of deities associated with Buddhism all around. The frescoes on the walls and the ceiling are the oldest here but they are over painted in the Kandy period.


After sightseeing continue your journey to Kandy.

Day 07 –  Kandy

KANDY – the hill capital is another “World Heritage Site”. It was the last stronghold of the Sinhalese Kings during the Portuguese, Dutch and British rule and finally ceded to the British in 1815 after an agreement. To the Buddhists of Sri Lanka and the World, Kandy is one of the most sacred sites as it is the home of the “Dalada Maligawa” – Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha.

Afternoon visit Kandy temple and late afternoon you can enjoy a Kandyan dance program and afterwards perhaps meet some of the dancers to learn all about the traditional Sinhalese dancing. After cultural show leave for hotel and relax.

Day 08 –  Kandy / Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast proceed to railway station to take a train ride to Nanu oya. Enjoy the nice sceneries of hill country. At the Nanu oya railway station you will meet your chauffer guide and continue your journey.

A city in the hill country of the central province, Sri Lanka the City Is one of the most Important locations for Tea Cultivation and well known for its cool climate being the coolest area in Sri Lanka.

Check in to hotel and relax. Evening visit a working tea factory to learn how a bud and 2 leaves from the tea plant end up in your cup!!!

Day 09 –  Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, you could visit the Horton Plains National Park, A World Heritage Site for an adventurous trek. Horton plains national park in ‘Ohiya’ is in the hill country and is the highest plateau in the island. It is paradise for nature lovers, hikers and bird watching. This plateau is rich in biodiversity and many species found here are endemic to the region. It is also a popular tourist destination.

The plains’ vegetation is grasslands interspersed with montage forest, and includes many endemic plants, Large herds of Sri Lankan samba deer feature as typical mammals, and with many species not only endemic to Sri Lanka but restricted to the Horton Plains.

Early morning visit is essential both to see the wild life and to view world’s End before mist closes in during the latter part of the morning.

Day 10 – Nuwara Eliya / Tissamaharama

After breakfast proceed to Tissamaharama. Afternoon jeep safari of Yala national wild life sanctuary witness nature its best, with the beauty of the wild animals in their natural habitat.

Inside the park you will come across with the Wild Boar, Elephants, Deer, Peacocks and many more animals roaming freely as nature intended them to live.

The elephants gather at the water holes for drinking and bathing, their young and immersing themselves on rocks in the park.

Overnight stay at Tissamaharama

Day 11 –  Yala

Relax at the hotel.

Optional: Early morning jeep safari of Yala national park. After sightseeing continue your journey to hotel.

Day 12 – Tissamaharama / Bentota

After checking out from the hotel proceed to Bentota via Galle. visit Galle fort which was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th Century from 1649 onwards It is a historical, archaeological and architectural heritage which even after more than 423 years, maintains a polishes appearance, due to extensive reconstruction work done by Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka.

The heritage value of the fort has been recognized by the UNESO and the site has been inscribed as a cultural heritage UNESCO Worlds heritage site. After sightseeing continue your journey to hotel.

Day 13  & Day 14 – Bentota

Relax and leisure in the long tropical beach.

Bentota is a coastal town in Sri Lanka, located in the Galle District of the Southern Province. Bentota is a major tourist attraction, with a local airport (Bentota River Airport) and a handful of world-class hotels. It is a destination for water sports and famous for its toddy production, an alcoholic beverage made of coconut nectar. It also has a turtle hatchery, located on Induruwa beach.

Day 15 – Bentota – Airport, Colombo

Proceeds to the Airport according to the departure flight details.
